West Ham and Southampton are eyeing a summer deal for Liverpool-linked defender Simon Kjaer.

Though one of the key members of the Lille squad, Kjaer is believed to be available this summer and the club want to earn cash from his sale to ease some of their financial worries.

The 26-year-old defender has been linked with Liverpool in the past but he is also generating considerable interest from Turkey with clubs such as Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas interested in acquiring his services.

However, Lille are willing to wait as they are aware that the Dane is in demand in England and according to L’Equipe, West Ham and Southampton are keen to get their hands on him this summer.

The Ligue 1 side are willing to sell Kjaer to one of his English suitors as they feel they can earn more cash from a deal with an English club than with one of the Turkish giants.
