Bayern Munich have steered themselves into the race for Torino skipper Kamil Glik and have been boosted by the defender admitting he sees himself in the Bundesliga.

Glik, a powerful centre-back who also captains Poland, has attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, with the latter credited with lodging an enquiry with Torino.

But according to Italian daily Tuttosport, Bayern Munich have now started to show interest in Glik, believing he could firm up the centre of their defence for next season.

The player's agent Jaroslaw Kolakowski has conceded that his client is a wanted man and believes that the next step in the 27-year-old's career is coming.

He said: "I will not name the clubs, but the fact is that there are some English, Italian and German clubs who are trying to get Kamil.

"The next step in Kamil's career should be logical."

The defender himself appears to favour a switch to Germany, which would boost Bayern Munich's chances of winning the race for his signature.

Glik was quoted as saying: "I think that my future lies in the Bundesliga."

The defender is under contract with Torino until 2017 and the Italian club have conceded they will listen to offers this summer. However, Torino are still hoping that Glik can be persuaded to stay put.
