Tomas Rosicky is unhappy with his current situation at Arsenal, which he says is not a laughing matter.

The veteran Czech Republic midfielder was linked with calling time on his lengthy association with Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners activated an option in his contract to extend his deal by a further year.

Rosicky is not cutting a happy figure at present though, with his precious remaining career time being eaten up on the bench or out of the squad completely.

He was quoted as saying by isport.cz journalist Karel Haring: "Since the moment Arsene Wenger used the option in my contract I haven't been even on the bench.

"I am laughing, but it's not funny", he continued.

"It's frustrating, but I am a professional.

"Even if you lose your place you must still be prepared because the situation can change."

Rosicky was strongly linked with returning to his homeland in the summer with Sparta Prague, but Arsenal are keen to keep him at the Emirates Stadium for a further 12 months.

He featured just twice in Arsenal's final ten Premier League games of the season, with 19 minute and nine minute spells respectively.

The 34-year-old was not in Arsenal's matchday squad for the FA Cup final.
