Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a loan deal this summer.

The Dutch midfielder has spent the season on loan at AC Milan and despite struggling for minutes initially, the 22-year-old was a regular starter during the latter half of their campaign.




The Rossoneri have been impressed by his performances and are keen to have him back at the club for next season but Chelsea are yet to make a decision on his future.

According to Tuttosport, Newcastle have now the entered the race for Van Ginkel’s signature and are keen to sign him this summer on a loan deal.
 


The Magpies want to build a strong team for next season after narrowly avoiding relegation this term and have been impressed by the Chelsea midfielder’s performances in Italy.

Though playing for Chelsea remains his long term goal, the Dutchman has said that he would like to return to AC Milan next season if his parent club allow him to do so.

However, Newcastle’s interest complicates matters for the Rossoneri and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea allow him to return to Italy or look to test his mettle in the Premier League with the Magpies.

Van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse in 2013 and has so far made only four senior appearances for the Blues.
