Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce are preparing to go on the offensive over Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Van Persie's future at Old Trafford is unclear following a lacklustre campaign with the Red Devils, while his contract has only a year left to run.




The striker has been linked with Italian champions Juventus, along with Fenerbahce's Turkish rivals Galatasaray.

Now Fenerbahce are ready to press the accelerator on their own attempt to sign Van Persie.
 

 

The Yellow Canaries finished second behind Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig this season and are desperate to wrest the crown from their rivals next term.

And they believe that Van Persie could be the man to fire them past their rivals.

Fenerbahce have money to spend and recently offloaded veteran Dutchman Dirk Kuyt at the end of his contract. Kuyt has now headed back to his homeland to link up with Feyenoord.
