Arsenal and Liverpool linked Alexandre Lacazette’s agent is set to meet Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas on Wednesday to sort out the future of his client.

With 27 goals in 33 Ligue 1 games this season, the forward was the standout performer for Lyon and was the top marksman in the French top flight.

His performances in France have also attracted the attention of top clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal and there is speculation that Lyon might struggle to keep hold of the 24-year-old this summer.

While the Lyon hierarchy have maintained that Lacazette is not going anywhere, the forward himself has stopped short of providing any such assurances to the club about his future.

Lyon president Aulas is aware that he will have to do a lot of firefighting over the next few months to keep Lacazette at the Stade Gerland next season but he is not willing to give up without a tough resistance.

According to French TV programme Telefoot, a meeting between the club supremo and the player’s agent has been scheduled for Wednesday, where both parties are expected to sort out the Frenchman’s immediate future at the club.

With the European Championship scheduled for next summer in France, some feel Lacazette should avoid changing clubs before the end of next season to avoid jeopardising his chances of featuring in the competition for Les Bleus.
