New Leeds United head of recruitment Martyn Glover admits it is early days for his role at Elland Road and what exactly he can and cannot do is still to be established.

Glover has arrived at Leeds fresh from a spell as head of recruitment at West Ham United, where he was taken by Sam Allardyce; Allardyce left Upton Park at the end of this season and Glover has quickly followed suit.

He is expected to play a big role in identifying potential signings and then driving deals over the line, but with Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino hands-on in terms of player recruitment, it remains to be seen what powers Glover will have.

And he admits they have not been fully fleshed out yet.

"It would be nice [to be able to set up my own scouting network]", he told BBC Radio Leeds in an interview.

"My role at the minute is a little bit still in its infancy, so we're trying to establish what I can and can't do and what the parameters will be.

"But I've got my own natural network anyway that I've built up over time. It's a case of who I'm able to bring in or not and how we work that moving forward and that will I hope be solved over the next two or three weeks to put a little team in place that can develop and build on the work that I've done previously.

"Hopefully one or two of my previous staff might get the opportunity to come with me", Glover added.

Glover spent time with Blackburn Rovers, working under a range of managers from Roy Hodgson to Brian Kidd, from Paul Ince to Allardyce, before heading to West Ham.
