Leeds United executive director Adam Pearson has promised news on defender Sol Bamba soon, amid continuing suggestions the Whites have wrapped up the permanent capture of the Ivorian.

Whites sporting director Nicola Salerno has already insisted a deal for Bamba is done and the defender is thought to have penned a two-year contract at Elland Road.

Today, with Leeds announcing a new five-year kit deal with sports company Kappa, Pearson was asked whether there is an extra, extra large shirt ready for Bamba to slip into.

And Pearson told the press conference with a smile: "Let's hope so.

"Very soon I think we'll see", he added.

Bamba joined Leeds in the winter transfer window on loan from Palermo and wasted little time cementing a spot in the centre of defence.

The Championship side retained an option to keep him permanently, but a move looked to be in doubt as there was no news on a signing and Bamba headed off on holiday.

But the Whites have been keen to ensure the centre-back stays put and it does appear he will again be playing his football at Elland Road next season.
