Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has rated his match-winning display in the north London derby against Arsenal as his highlight of the 2014/15 season.

Kane, who scored two goals in Spurs’ comeback win over the Gunners in February, has expressed delight at his club’s win over their local rivals, marking it as the key moment of his debut campaign.

Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, the 21-year-old said: “For me personally it was a belter, with both goals and obviously to win the game was definitely the highlight of the season.”

He feels that a local derby debut could not have gone any better, with Kane leading the White Hart Lane club’s comeback win with two goals in the second half, to down Arsenal 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

“It was my first north London derby and it couldn’t have probably got any better.”

The recently-capped England international insists that despite Spurs going behind in the game they always felt they had a chance to beat the Gunners.

“I thought we played incredible as a team. We were unlucky to be one-nil down at half-time, but we knew that we’ve got a great chance.”

Kane has also praised Tottenham’s 5-3 win over champions Chelsea on New Year’s Day, reflecting on the win as a special performance.

“To score five goals against Chelsea is just incredible. That was a special night for me. I won’t forget it.”

The youngster feels that the Chelsea game was his chance to show the world that he could perform against the bigger clubs, and he duly obliged.

“It was time for everyone to see what I could do against the bigger clubs so I took it with both hands. I scored two goals and got two assists in that game”, added Kane.

The PFA Young Player of the Year this season, however, believes that his 89th minute winner against Aston Villa was the defining moment of his career as he became a Spurs regular after that game.

“It was definitely the defining moment in my career. I started every game in the Premier League for Tottenham since so I’d say that’s a big, big defining moment of my career so far.”

Kane scored 21 Premier League goals in 2014/15 and finished second in the scoring charts behind Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. This season, he was awarded the Player of the Month twice, in the months of January and February.
