Liverpool linked goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has not written off the possibility of still being at Club Brugge for the start of the new season, though he knows anything can happen in football and cannot rule out a transfer.

Ryan's accomplished performances between the sticks for the Belgian outfit last term saw him linked with Liverpool, although Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was not prepared to talk transfers when challenged over a swoop.

The goalkeeper sees no reason why he should not be starting the new campaign with Club Brugge, but has been careful to rule nothing out on the transfer front.

When asked by the Belgian club's site if he will be back this summer, he replied: "Why not? I am still under contract to the club.

"I realise of course that there are no certainties in the football world. It's a rollercoaster", the Australian continued.

"But I am not in a hurry to leave.

"I realise quite honestly that this is a great environment in which to work and especially [so] before an overwhelming sporting and financial level offer being made for me is confirmed."

Ryan managed a total of 58 appearances in all competitions for Club Brugge last term, keeping 21 clean sheets.

An Australia international, the 23-year-old's contract with the Belgian giants is set to run until the summer of 2018.
