Chelsea linked midfielder Axel Witsel is set to complete his move to AC Milan by the end of the day, according to Belgian daily Sudpresse.

The midfielder’s future at Zenit St. Petersburg has been a source of speculation for months as a few top clubs across Europe had their eye on the Belgian international.

Juventus have been trying hard to agree a deal with the Russian outfit for months and Witsel has also been linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

However, AC Milan have made a few swift moves in the transfer market for Witsel and it has been claimed that they are close to signing the 26-year-old midfielder.

The Rossoneri are expected to reach an agreement with Zenit and the player to complete the deal for him by the end of the day.

After missing out on high profile targets such as Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jackson Martinez, the Italian giants have left very little to chance in their chase for Witsel and are expected to reach an agreement soon.

The midfielder joined Zenit from Benfica in 2012 and played a key role in them winning the league title last season.

He is also an established international and has earned 57 caps for Belgium.
