Radja Nainggolan has expressed his happiness after Roma reached an agreement with Cagliari to resolve his co-ownership situation.

The Belgium international was part owned by Cagliari and Roma and after the agreement between the two sides, the Rome-based outfit have become the sole owners of the midfielder.

In a statement released on the club’s official website, it stated: “AS Roma SpA has reached an agreement with Cagliari Calcio SpA to resolve the co-ownership of footballer Radja Nainggolan in AS Roma's favour, in exchange for a fee of €9 million.”

Nainggolan has become a valuable member of Rudi Garcia’s side and last season he scored five times and assisted a further six goals to help his team finish second in the league standings.

His performances have seen him widely linked with Premier League giants Manchester United, as they attempt to reinforce their side and challenge for the league title under manager Louis van Gaal next season.

However, the midfielder has expressed his delight at the latest development through his Twitter account.

“Today is a great day, I am finally 100% Giallorossi, that is what I have always wanted and it has happened now! I thank the club …

“[James] Pallotta … for the great effort, [I will] repay on the field as I have done so far and even more! Forza Roma! Now [we] head to the next season!”

Through the course of his time with Roma, the 27-year-old has gone on to make 66 appearances in all competitions.
