Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel’s agent has confirmed that his client will join United Arab Emirates outfit Al Ain this summer.

The Dutchman joined Turkish outfit Kasimpasa from Ajax in 2013 and scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 59 appearances over the last two seasons.

However, the 28-year-old is on the move again and Winny Haatrecht, his agent, has confirmed that he has agreed a two-year contract with Al Ain.

Speaking to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Haatrecht said: “We have signed a two-year contract.

“Ryan is on vacation now and at the start of July he will undergo a medical [with Al Ain].”

Babel is said to have signed a lucrative contract with Al Ain and his agent indicated that the money on offer is an indication on how much the club wants him.

“[It is clear] from their contract offer how much they appreciate him.”

Babel has earned 42 caps for the Netherlands but his last international appearance came in 2011 in a 3-0 loss against Germany.

The winger-cum-forward made 146 appearances during his three-and-a-half season stay at Liverpool before he moved to Hoffenheim in January 2011.

Al Ain have won their domestic league title for the last three seasons and are one of the most successful club sides in the UAE.
