Liverpool have been linked with a move for Atalanta full-back Davide Zappacosta this summer.
With Glen Johnson leaving the club at the end of last season, Brendan Rodgers is keen to add at least one more full-back to his squad as he looks to challenge for a top four position next term.
Liverpool have a number of options jotted down on their shortlist of candidates and one of the names is said to be Atalanta’s 23-year-old full-back Zappacosta.
Though the Italians have bowed out of the competition in the group stage, the full-back did catch the eye with his performances in the European Under-21 Championship.
The Reds are said to be impressed with his showings and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they are plotting a move for Zappacosta this summer.

However, Rodgers’ men will face stiff competition from Serie A regulars Fiorentina and Torino, who have also been keeping their hawkish eyes on his recent performances.
With 29 Serie A appearances, Zappacosta played a key role in Atalanta avoiding relegation from the Italian top flight last season.
The full-back’s contract with the club runs until the summer of 2018.
