Newcastle United are preparing a bid for the Anderlecht forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has also attracted interest from Benfica and Swansea City.
The 20-year-old Serbian international has attracted interest from clubs across Europe with his exploits at Anderlecht last season, where he scored 27 goals in all competitions.
Anderlecht are claimed to have rejected a bid from Premier League side Swansea and are bracing for a fight to keep him at the club beyond the summer.
Newcastle have a long term interest in the player and are keen to push ahead with a deal to sign the Serbian from Anderlecht ahead of the start of the new season.
According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the Magpies are preparing a €17m to €18m deal for the Serbian hitman and are expected to make their move soon.
