Arsenal are on the verge of signing Manchester United linked midfielder Arturo Vidal from Juventus this summer, with the deal 90 per cent done, according to Spanish radio station Cadena COPE.

The Chilean midfielder has been previously heavily linked with Manchester United and there has also been talk of Real Madrid showing keen interest in signing him.

However, Arsenal are the club who are believed to leading the chase for the midfielder’s signature this summer and though the trail has blown hot and cold over the last few months, it has been claimed the Gunners are closing in on signing Vidal from Juventus.

It has been claimed that the deal is 90 per cent done and Vidal will join Arsene Wenger’s side in the next few weeks for a reported fee of €30m.

His recent altercation with the authorities in Chile did put a question mark on any transfer from the Bianconeri this summer and there was talk that Real Madrid ended their interest in the player due to his disciplinary record.

However, it seems it had little effect on Arsenal who are believed to have pushed ahead with the deal and now appear on the verge of his capture.

Vidal is currently preparing for Chile’s Copa America semi-final against Peru tomorrow as they hope to win the tournament for the first time in their history on home turf.
