Chelsea youngster Lewis Baker has been loaned out to Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem on a season-long deal.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been loaned to the Dutch club for the full 2015/16 season in order to gain first-team exposure and experience in top flight football abroad.

Vitesse regularly welcome Chelsea youngsters on loan moves and the England U-20 captain will hone his skills at the Dutch outfit next season.

A product of Chelsea’s youth academy, Baker made his debut for the Blues in January 2014 as a 87th minute-substitute in an FA Cup third round victory over Derby County.

Despite being named in the 2014/15 first-team squad by manager Jose Mourinho, Baker did not make an appearance for the Blues.

He was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday and Milton Keynes Dons in the second half of the 2014/15 season, helping the latter achieve automatic promotion to the Championship by finishing second in League One.

Baker also serves as captain for the England Under-20s team.
