Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya’s agent Juan De Dios Carrasco has confirmed that his client is close to an Inter Milan switch, adding that the completion of his move is just “a matter of days.”

Montoya has been heavily linked with a move away from the Camp Nou all summer and his situation finally appears closer to being resolved.

The defender, a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia youth academy, has not featured prominently in manager Luis Enrique’s plans and there was speculation of a possible move for the defender in the last winter transfer window.

However, he decided to stay put. But with Dani Alves renewing his contract and Barcelona having signed Aleix Vidal from Sevilla, Montoya was likely to drop even further in the pecking order.

Now Carrasco has revealed that his client is close to signing a two-year loan deal with the Italian giants and the switch is likely to be completed in the next few days.

“We already have an agreement.

“It's a matter of days.

"I can confirm that it will be a two-year loan, but I can't give any monetary figures.”
