Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has revealed that he would sell Manchester United target Nicolas Gaitan for the right price.

The Argentine winger has been consistently linked with a move to Manchester United for the last few years, but a deal has never materialised.

The window to a fresh set of speculation regarding Gaitan and Manchester United was again opened last week when one of his advisors revealed that they are waiting to hear from the Red Devils about a proposed transfer for the 27-year-old.

While Louis van Gaal’s men are yet to respond to apparent overtures from Gaitan’s camp, the Benfica president has revealed that the winger is available in the market for the right price.

Vieira added that he would not like to meet the player’s ambition of playing in another league, but stressed there needs to be a good offer on his table for the transfer to take place.

“However, there needs to be a fair offer, for both the player and Benfica.”

The Argentine has made 214 apperances for Benfica, scoring 30 goals and proving 67 assists since joining the club in 2010 from Boca Juniors.
