Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic over a switch to west London this summer, but as yet have no deal with the Potters.

The 28-year-old Bosnian is said to be Jose Mourinho’s top target as he looks to replace Petr Cech, who joined Arsenal yesterday.

The Blues are looking to conclude a deal for the Stoke shot-stopper soon and according to Sky Italia, they have already agreed personal terms with Begovic.

Chelsea have agreed to offer a four-year contract to the Bosnian worth €5m per season and are now looking to agree a fee with the Potters.

Stoke City are asking for a fee of around €10m for a player who has only one year left on his contract with the club, but the Blues latest offer stands at around €6m.

While a deal is yet to be agreed, both clubs are expected to negotiate over the coming weeks to thrash out an agreement and Chelsea are confident of signing Begovic as a replacement for Cech soon.

Begovic joined Stoke from Portsmouth in 2010 and has played a key role in establishing the club as Premier League regulars.

He has made 173 appearances for Stoke, conceding 210 goals and keeping 50 clean sheets.
