Atletico Madrid have enquired about Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado in a bid to secure his signature this summer, according to Madrid-based daily AS.

Cuadrado landed at Stamford Bridge in the winter transfer window from Serie A side Fiorentina, but he found it hard to impress manager Jose Mourinho.

He was reduced to four league starts as the Blues galloped their way to the first Premier League title in five years.

The Colombian doesn’t feature in Mourinho’s plans and Chelsea offered the winger to Barcelona, but the Catalans refused to bid for the 27-year-old.

Now Atletico Madrid, who are dealing with the possibility of losing Arda Turan this summer, have lodged an enquiry for Cuadrado in a bid to strengthen their squad for the coming season.

Los Rojiblancos are likely to face opposition from Juventus and Inter Milan, both of whom have been linked with Cuadrado.

The winger was part of the Colombia national team managed by Jose Pekerman at the ongoing Copa America, as they exited the competition at the quarter-final stage after suffering a defeat to Argentina.
