Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers have announced the signing of goalkeeper Ben Amos.

The Manchester United academy graduate has signed a four-year contract with the Trotters, who were quick to find a replacement for Adam Bogdan, who officially joined Liverpool earlier today.

Amos joined Bolton on a short-term loan in January and made nine appearances for the Trotters in the Championship, keeping two clean sheets in the process.

The 25-year-old came up through the ranks at Manchester United but failed to cement his place in their first team set-up. This led to a succession of loan moves for the former England Under-21s international.

His contract with the Red Devils expired at the end of last season and he was released by the Old Trafford outfit last month.

Bolton lost both their goalkeepers to free transfers in the close season. First choice goalkeeper Andy Lonergan moved to fellow Championship side Fulham while Bogdan joined Premier League outfit Liverpool.

Amos becomes manager Neil Lennon’s first signing of the summer.
