Chelsea have reached an agreement with Stoke City for the signature of Asmir Begovic, according to Sky Italia.

After losing Petr Cech to Arsenal earlier in the week, the Blues have moved quickly in order to secure a replacement for the veteran shot-stopper.

While it was reported that they have already agreed personal terms with the player, the club were still negotiating with Stoke over a fee.

However, it has been claimed that the Blues have already reached an agreement over a fee with Stoke and the Bosnian is expected to join the club soon.

The Blues have agreed to pay a transfer fee of around £8m to Stoke for the signature of Begovic and the player is set to receive a salary of around £4m per season at Stamford Bridge.

However, it has been claimed that Wolfsburg’s Diego Benaglio was Chelsea’s top target to replace Cech but eventually they moved for Begovic.

The Bosnian has made 173 appearances for Stoke, conceding 210 goals and keeping 50 clean sheets.
