Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is looking forward to pre-season with the Gunners in order to get used to his new team-mates before the league kicks off in August.

Cech has signed for Arsenal after enduring a difficult season with Chelsea, where he was reduced to sporadic first team appearances as Thibaut Courtois was handed the goalkeeping duties by manager Jose Mourinho.

The veteran custodian is expected to be handed the number 1 shirt by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for the coming season as the Gunners attempt to challenge for the league title.

And the Czech Republic international is eager to start pre-season with his new team-mates in order to build an understanding prior to the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign.

“We will have the whole pre-season to work together and to get used to each other”, Cech told Arsenal Player.

“The fact that you have a settled back four with people who have known each other for some time is an advantage. I know the league and what to expect so this is to my advantage.

“I will just need to find the understanding between me and the defenders.

“But we have a whole pre-season and the pre-season games to get used to each other and I think that we will find a way to make it work pretty soon.”

Cech had an 11-year stint with the Blues and he went on to win four league titles as well as the Champions League in the 2011/12 season with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
