Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has revealed that he draws inspiration from Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel.

Bogdan has completed his transfer from Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers and will be competing with Simon Mignolet for a spot in the first team under manager Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

The Hungary international has revealed that he draws inspiration from Red Devils legend Schmeichel, who through the course of his eight-year stint at Old Trafford went on to win five Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League in 1999.

In an interview with the Liverpool website when the 27-year-old was asked for his goalkeeping inspiration, he replied: “When I was young, it was Peter Schmeichel.

“He was exceptional”, he added.

Schmeichel also went on to be crowned European champions with the Denmark national team in 1992 in Sweden.

Bogdan endured an injury-plagued campaign with Bolton last season and was reduced to ten league appearances.

He will look to help the Reds qualify for the Champions League with a top four finish next season, after they slumped to sixth last term.
