Bayern Munich have signed Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk for a transfer fee of €30m.

The Brazilian winger underwent a medical in Munich yesterday and has signed a five-year contract with the club.




The Ukrainian outfit confirmed earlier today that they have accepted a €30m fee from Bayern Munich to sell the 24-year-old winger to the German champions.

The Brazilian has revealed his delight at signing for the German champions and stressed that he will do everything to meet the high standards of the club.
 


“Today, I have fulfilled a dream”, Costa told the club’s official website.

The winger joined Shakhtar Donetsk from Gremio in 2010 and has scored 38 goals in 203 apperances for the club.

Costa has been pining for a move away from Shakhtar Donetsk since the winter window and his preferred option was said to be Chelsea.

However, Bayern Munich dropped in with their interest and have move in quickly to secure the signature of the Brazilian winger this summer.

He has earned seven caps for Brazil and was part of the squad that exited the Copa America in the quarter-finals recently.
