AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang will stay at the San Siro until the summer of 2019 after extending his contract with the Rossoneri for a further two years.

Niang joined Genoa on a loan deal in January this year and went on to make 14 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoblu.

He contributed five goals and three assists through their campaign to help secure a sixth place finish in the final league standings.

The forward has been with AC Milan since 2012 and has played 38 games for the Serie A giants.

AC Milan ended their last campaign out of the European places in tenth, which led to the departure of manager Filippo Inzaghi.

Premier League outfits Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United were interested in securing him this summer.

Niang, 20, has earned three caps for the France Under-21 national side, scoring a solitary goal in the process.
