West Ham have opened talks with Dynamo Kyiv for the signature of tough-tackling central defender Aleksandar Dragovic.

The 24-year-old centre half was mooted to be close to joining Manchester United during the winter window but a deal failed to materialise.

However, interest in the Austrian international has not receded and West Ham are said to be trying to take him to England this summer.

According to Sky Italia, the Hammers are already in negotiations with Dynamo Kyiv for Dragovic and are hopeful of concluding the deal to sign the defender soon.

West Ham are in the market for defenders this summer and the 24-year-old has emerged as a top target for the club.
