AC Milan have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano over a free transfer in the winter window.

The Rossoneri recently announced that they have agreed a deal with Sevilla for the signature of Carlos Bacca and are closing in on another striker.

According to Sky Italia, the Italian giants have agreed a deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk striker Adriano on a free transfer in the January window.

The Brazilian’s contract with the Ukrainian outfit runs out at the end of December and the Rossoneri seem to have moved quickly to tie him down on a pre-contract.

However, it has been claimed that AC Milan are also trying to convince Shakhtar Donetsk to allow the player to leave on a free transfer this summer as the club are keen to add Adriano to their squad as soon as possible.

Negotiations are expected to drag on, but it seems likely the 28-year-old forward will arrive at the San Siro one way or the other.

Adriano scored 21 goals and provided 13 assists for his team-mates in all competitions during the 2014/15 campaign.

The forward has also earned four caps for the Selecao, but is yet to score on the international stage.
