Bayern Munich new boy Douglas Costa feels that wearing the club shirt makes a player feel the need to win trophies and he would like to answer the call by finishing at the top of every competition.

The Brazilian sealed a £21m deal to move to the Allianz Arena from Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk yesterday.

The 24-year-old, who signed a five-year contract with the German champions, insists that he was keen to sign straight away once an offer from Bayern Munich came in.

And now that he has finally managed to secure his dream move, the striker hopes that he will be able to live up to the expectations that have been built around him at his new club.

“I’m happy to be able to wear the Bayern shirt for the next five years", Costa said in his first interview with the club's official website.

"Negotiations started as soon as FC Bayern showed they were interested. I was keen to sign straight away. And I hope I can live up to my own expectations."

Playing for a club of Bayern Munich's reputation makes him dream of winning every kind of trophy that is on offer, according to the Brazilian international. And he would very much like to do that.

"If you wear the club shirt you obviously want to win titles. That could be the Bundesliga, DFB Cup or Champions League, but I’d really like to finish top in all the competitions."

Costa, who joined Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2010, managed a total of 201 appearances for the Ukrainian side scoring 38 goals.
