Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler feels that it would be "foolish" of him to decline chances to some of his players without having a proper look at them.

The Peacocks returned to training at Thorp Arch earlier in the week as they prepare themselves for a tough pre-season schedule later this month.

The Championship side will in fact take on German clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim in two high-profile friendlies in the latter parts of July followed by home match against Premier League side Everton on 1st August.

And the former Wigan manager feels that the matches will prove to be good opportunities for him to have a close look at the players in his squad before he finally decides on which players are best suited to play for him.

According to the 46-year-old, his judgement of individuals and their talent is based on what he sees on the pitch and it would be foolish to discard a player before even having a look at them.

“I would be foolish if I was to decline certain individuals before I’ve even seen them", Rosler told his club's official website.

“With me it is always the same – I judge people on what I see on the pitch."

Rosler also took time to insist that he has been surprised to see some of the players at his new club and is enjoying working with them.

“Some players have really surprised me positively. I’m enjoying working with them.

“Me and my coaching staff are here to improve them and the squad so far has put some very good effort in – they know it is important."
