Leeds United’s summer signing Sol Bamba has talked up his permanent move to the Whites this summer.

Bamba, who spent the second half of 2014/15 on loan at the Elland Road outfit, made his move to the Yorkshire-based club from Palermo permanent last month.

The Ivory Coast international has revealed that Leeds were always his “number one” target.

In an interview with LUTV, he talked about the complexities of negotiations but his desire to join Leeds meant the decision in the end was an easy one.

“Negotiations can take some time, can be done quick but obviously on my mind it [joining Leeds] was always my target number one so it was an easy decision in the end.”

The defender admits his doubts over the move were cleared once he received assurances from the club’s hierarchy and new manager Uwe Rosler.

“I was thinking about who’s going to be the next manager, the people in charge obviously have to make the right decisions.

“I spoke with all of them and it was looking like they were trying to do something big at the club. That’s what convinced me to sign.

“Obviously the manager came in, phoned me up; had a good chat with him so it was an easy decision in the end”, added the 30-year-old.

Bamba played 19 times for the Elland Road club last season and scored one goal. He was part of the Ivory Coast squad in the 2014 World Cup.
