Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp is impressed with Manchester United wanting Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, arguing he is a "fantastic" player.

Manchester United have been linked with making a big money move to take Muller to Old Trafford this summer, although it is far from clear whether Bayern Munich are prepared to allow their youth product to leave.

And Redknapp questions whether Muller himself would want to leave the Allianz Arena.

The 68-year-old former QPR boss wrote on social network Kicca: "Thomas Muller would be fantastic signing for any club and it’s not hard to see why Manchester United would want him.

"But would he want to go and would Bayern be prepared to let him go?" he added.

Redknapp also had his say on the Red Devils being linked with another household name in the form of Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

It has been claimed Ramos is desperate to sign for Manchester United after becoming unhappy with his contractual situation in the Spanish capital.

"However, if Sergio Ramos wants to leave Real Madrid for United then it’s clear the attraction of playing in the Premier League is still alive and well", Redknapp said.

Manchester United spent over £150m on new players last summer and look to be shaping up for an equally lavish spending spree this year.
