Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has praised the club’s new goalkeeping coach Richard Hartis.

Hartis, who is back for his second stint at the Elland Road club, brings with him his experience of coaching for the likes of Manchester United and Cardiff City among others.

And manager Rosler has expressed his delight at his appointment, and talked up his familiarity with the Englishman.

"I’m also very happy with Richard Hartis”, said the German to Leeds’ official website.

“I know him from Norway and I also knew him from Man United.”

The Whites’ new manager believes Hartis’ experience of coaching at big clubs will be beneficial to his new project at Leeds, and feels he will help create a winning environment at the club.

"He has experience and knowledge on the training pitch but also knows about creating that winning environment", added Rosler.

Hartis, 47, was the academy goalkeeping coach in his first stint at Leeds. He left the Yorkshire-based club for Leicester in 2000 before moving up to Manchester United a season later.

The Englishman worked at the Old Trafford club for ten years. He was working with the English FA before joining up with Rosler’s backroom staff at Leeds.
