Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has said that he hopes to improve upon
the Lilywhites' performances last season and win trophies in the coming season.

Spurs ended last season in fifth – six points adrift of fourth placed Manchester United – and missed out on Champions League qualification as a consequence. However, they have directly made it to the group stage of the Europa League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side also enjoyed an extended run in the League Cup and made it to the final at Wembley, but they came up short against Chelsea, who ended up with a double of the League Cup and the league title.

Talking about the upcoming season, the France national team captain said that he wants his team to improve upon their performance from the season prior.

“We always want a better season”, the goalkeeper told his club side, when asked about his hopes for the 2015/16 season.

“We expect to improve as a team and to get the club as high as possible in the league.

“We also want to enjoy it as much as possible with our fans, to go far in cup competitions – that’s always a good feeling – and to win trophies.

“The expectation is always the same and we work every day for the chance to win something.”

Lloris, who joined Spurs in the summer of 2012 from French outfit Lyon, has gone on to make 122 appearances for the Lilywhites.
