New Rangers signing Wes Foderingham says that Gers manager Mark Warburton is eyeing leading the club into the Champions League.

Foderingham linked up with Rangers today and is relishing the challenge of helping the Ibrox outfit to first win promotion back to the Scottish top flight.

The goalkeeper revealed that he has spoken to Warburton, who confided in him a three-year plan, with Rangers being back in the Champions League at the end of it.

Foderingham told Rangers TV: "We spoke about there being a three-year plan; obviously winning the league, getting into the SPL, challenging for the SPL and Champions League at the end of that.

"I think it's a realistic possibility and hopefully we get there", Foderingham added.

Rangers' new signing also told fans what to expect when they see him in action, explaining he is not a traditional British type of goalkeeper and considers himself to be comfortable with the ball at his feet.

"I'm a different style of goalkeeper, a continental style if you like. I'm good with the ball at my feet, comfortable in those situations…good under pressure and I make good stops as all goalkeepers really should.

"I'm a good communicator as well and I have a lot of experience for my young age", he added.

The 24-year-old started his career at Fulham before moving on to Crystal Palace. He had a series of loan stints away from the Eagles before joining Swindon on a permanent deal in 2012.
