Getafe are discussing the possibility of a loan move for Real Madrid starlet and Celtic target Martin Odegaard, according to Madrid-based daily AS.

Odegaard was pursued by several European giants, including Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Manchester United as well as Barcelona and Bayern Munich, until January this year.

Real Madrid secured the services of the teenager and he went on to make his senior debut for the Spanish giants during their least league game of the season against Getafe.

However, Los Blancos are considering loaning out the youngster to allow him regular first team minutes.

Celtic, led by Ronny Deila, have been interested in prising away the Norwegian on a loan deal. If the move went through, the teenager would reunite with his former Stromsgodset boss at Celtic Park.

However, they will have to fend off a challenge from Getafe, who have secured Real Madrid Castilla’s Alvaro Medran and are discussing the possibility of a loan deal for Odegaard.

The 16-year-old is also seeking a move out of Real Madrid Castilla in search of regular senior level first team football.

The task for Celtic to get the teenager on board is not easy as Real Madrid are thought to prefer a move within the Spanish La Liga for Odegaard.
