Sporting Lisbon coach Jorge Jesus is pushing for the club to re-sign striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Jesus, who left Sporting Lisbon's fierce rivals Benfica to take charge at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, believes that Van Wolfswinkel can add teeth to his attacking options for next term.

According to Portuguese daily A Bola, Jesus has asked Sporting Lisbon to snap up the Dutchman, who played for the club between 2011 and 2013.

However, Van Wolfswinkel's current club side, Norwich City, are looking for €5m to allow him to leave, a sum which Sporting Lisbon consider to be excessive.

Van Wolfswinkel spent last season on loan in France with Saint-Etienne and is thought to be surplus to requirements at Carrow Road.

Despite Norwich's asking price, Jesus remains confident that Sporting Lisbon can eventually land the 26-year-old.

Van Wolfswinkel, who has two senior caps for the Netherlands to his name, joined Sporting Lisbon from FC Utrecht in 2011.

He was sold to Norwich two years later.
