Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Real Zaragoza starlet Jesus Vallejo, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

The 18-year-old has progressed through the ranks of Real Zaragoza – the club he joined in 2007 – and went on to become a regular feature of their defence last season.

The defender made his professional debut against Recreativo de Huelva in the first game of Zaragoza’s league campaign last term, and by the time the season came to a closure he had captained the side 13 times.

Real Madrid are excited by his development and are drawing comparisons with a teenage Sergio Ramos they bought back in 2005, and Raphael Varane, who has become a first team regular in defence.

Rafael Benitez’s side are currently grappling with the possibility of losing Ramos to Manchester United.
