Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has revealed his excitement to be back on the pitch and will now look forward to the rest of pre-season.

The 46-year-old was sacked as Wigan Athletic manager in November last year after his side slumped in form and had been out of job for six months before being appointed the man in charge at Elland Road in May.

The German manager though had been pre-occupied with backroom team appointments primarily before finally getting back on the pitch for pre-season training at Thorp Arch earlier in the week.

For Rosler, it is great to be back on the pitch finally because that is the place where he feels he belongs and the pitch is where his passion lies.

The former Brentford manager is now looking to cash in on the productive training that his players have had before going away to take part in their pre-season campaign.

“I’m just excited to be back on the pitch – it’s been a while now”, Rosler told his club's official website.

“The first three or four weeks at Leeds were just office work, phone calls and a lot of meetings, but now is actually the real work on the pitch.

“That is where I want to be and where my passion lies. I’m just delighted to work with the players.

“We’ve had a productive three days now and I’m looking forward to the rest of pre-season."
