Galatasaray have announced that Lukas Podolski will officially sign for the club this afternoon after arriving in Istanbul.

The Turkish champions have thrashed out a deal with Arsenal to sign the Germany international, who joins following three years in England.

Podolski spent the second half of last season on loan at Italian giants Inter after struggling to earn regular first team football under Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium.

And with little prospect of that changing in the new season, the 30-year-old is on the move.

Podolski has been advised to play as much football as possible by Germany coach Joachim Low, who wants him to be in top shape for Euro 2016 next summer.
