Inter are mulling over offering Xherdan Shaqiri plus cash to Tottenham Hotspur for Erik Lamela.

The Nerazzurri only signed Shaqiri from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window this year, but already have made the Switzerland international available for the right price.

An offer from Stoke City for Shaqiri, set at €17m, has been accepted by the Italian giants, but the winger himself is not keen on moving to the Britannia Stadium.

Now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are thinking of proposing Shaqiri to Tottenham in a bid to sign Lamela.

The Argentine's stock in Italy is still sky high from a promising spell with Roma, but he had been considered too expensive for Serie A clubs.

Inter believe that by offering Shaqiri plus cash for Lamela, they may be able to lay their hands on the winger for a reduced price.

Shaqiri may also be more attracted to joining Spurs than Stoke.

The Italian outfit do have other irons in the fire and are still in for Chelsea's Mohamed Salah and Manchester City's Stevan Jovetic.
