Manchester United are making a push for Torino right-back Matteo Darmian and appear poised to rival Napoli for his signature.

Napoli are chasing Darmian and have submitted a number of bids in recent weeks as they attempt to take him from Torino.

But life has just become a lot harder for Napoli after Louis van Gaal solidified Manchester United's interest in the Italy international.

According to Sky Italia, the Red Devils have been in touch with Torino's president Urbano Cairo and the player's agents in recent days.

The English club are firm fans of the full-back and may be about to launch a bid to snap him up from the Granata.
