Paris Saint-Germain contacted Manchester United yesterday about signing Angel di Maria this summer, it has been claimed in France.

With UEFA having lifted its financial fair play restrictions on the French champions, PSG are free to rekindle their interest in Di Maria.




PSG missed out on Di Maria last summer as UEFA's rules began to bite, allowing Manchester United to steal in and complete a deal with Real Madrid for the Argentine winger.

But PSG have never lost sight of signing Di Maria, who remains a popular figure in the boardroom at the Parc des Princes.
 

 

And according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, yesterday PSG made their first concrete move for Di Maria.

Indeed, the French champions officially contacted Manchester United to register their interest in signing Di Maria and to request information over what the Red Devils want to part with the Argentine.

Manchester United splashed £59.7m to sign Di Maria last summer, breaking the British transfer record in the process.

The Argentine struggled to justify his price tag in a lacklustre first campaign at Old Trafford however.
