Restrictions on Premier League giants Manchester City and French outfit Paris Saint-Germain have been lifted after the club managed to meet their Financial Fair Play targets.

The Citizens' spending for the 2014/15 season was limited to £49m after they failed to stay within UEFA's permitted rules.

In addition, their European squad strength was also curtailed to 21 in addition to being fined £16.3m by European football's governing body.

However, UEFA have now eased those restrictions after the Sky Blues managed to meet break-even compliance targets.

French outfit PSG, who were also fined along with Manchester City last year also have had their sanctions lifted.

There continue to remain some restrictions on PSG though as the French champions are still to meet some of their break-even targets.

"The lifting of restrictions is subject to ongoing additional controls and audits", UEFA said in a statement.

"The club [PSG] remains under strict monitoring and has still to meet break-even targets and is therefore subject to some limitations in 2016."

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi immediately announced his club's intention to recruit new players as soon as the transfer ban was lifted.

"We will look to buy the best players that the team needs."

UEFA had earlier this week announced that they were looking to ease the break-even FFP regulations in an attempt to encourage investment in European club football.
