Nadir Ciftci's agent Pierre van Hooijdonk says that his client is not desperate to leave Dundee United for Celtic, but would be willing to speak to the Bhoys if they have a bid accepted.

The striker has seen Dundee United accept an offer from Wigan Athletic for his services, but he has refused to join the League One side.

Celtic are keen, but despite the fact that Ciftci has only one year left on his contract, Dundee United will not easily part with him and want £1.5m.

And Ciftci will not make trouble to push through a move, Van Hooijdonk says.

He told BBC Scotland: "There are only two offers on the table at the moment from two clubs.

"He told Wigan he does not want to go there. If United accept an offer from Celtic, we could talk", the former striker continued.

"We don't want to put the player in a situation that he doesn't want to be in.

"He is not desperate to go.

"Nadir is away with United to Holland next week. He is very comfortable in this situation. He is not panicking because of the situation.

"When the offer is right for United and for the player, he will listen to the offer. If it's not, he won't be forced to move."

Celtic raided Dundee United for two players in the winter transfer window earlier this year, taking both Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong to Paradise.

The Bhoys came face to face with Dundee United on a number of occasions last season and it appears Celtic boss Ronny Deila was impressed by what he saw from 23-year-old Ciftci.
