Liverpool have Rennes winger Paul-Georges Ntep on a list of potential replacements for Raheem Sterling.

The Reds are expected to eventually sell Sterling to Premier League rivals Manchester City this summer, with the England international desperate to find a way out of Anfield.

Rennes star Ntep was linked with Liverpool earlier this year and the Merseyside giants have not lost sight of the player.

According to French outlet Eurosport, Ntep's name features prominently on a list drawn up by Liverpool of potential replacements for Sterling.

Liverpool are expected to make contact with Rennes over Ntep as soon as Sterling's sale is sealed. However, they may have a tough time securing the France international.

The first barrier will be convincing Rennes to sell Ntep, as the Ligue 1 club are determined to keep hold of him and will not sell their prize asset cheaply.

But even if Rennes are convinced to part with the 22-year-old, Ntep is not sure about leaving Ligue 1 this summer.

Indeed, Ntep wants to make sure he is in the France squad for next summer's Euro 2016 on home soil and worries that leaving Ligue 1 could hurt his chances of making the cut.
