Lyon have not given up hope of taking defender Jason Denayer on loan from Manchester City for the forthcoming season.

Denayer spent last term on loan at Scottish giants Celtic and impressed in helping the Bhoys to win the Scottish Premiership title and the League Cup; he also tasted European football in the Europa League.

The Belgium international has now returned to Manchester City, but it is far from clear whether he will continue at the Etihad Stadium despite the Citizens believing he has the quality to be part of their first team.

According to French daily Le Progres, Lyon have held talks with Denayer's representatives and a loan move is still possible for the 19-year-old.
