Inter coach Roberto Mancini is set to hold talks with Xherdan Shaqiri in a bid to convince him to accept an offer from Stoke City.

The Potters have slapped in a bid of €17m for the Swiss international which has been readily accepted by the Nerazzurri, who need to bring in funds to help finance their own summer spending spree.

But Shaqiri, who has also been linked with Liverpool again this summer, has knocked back the chance to join Stoke and is not sold on a move to the Britannia Stadium.

However, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Shaqiri is due back at Inter's training ground today, at which he will meet with Mancini.

The former Manchester City manager will try to convince Shaqiri to accept Stoke's offer, something which would bring money flowing into Inter's coffers.

It is possible Shaqiri could have other options this summer.

Stoke's bid is the most concrete as an offer has been accepted by Inter, although Atletico Madrid, who are considering Shaqiri as a potential replacement for wantaway winger Arda Turan, remain a possibility.

Inter have also pondered using Shaqiri as part of a bid to sign Erik Lamela from Tottenham Hotspur.
