Tottenham Hotspur could well end up scooping around £1m from Iago Falque's move from Genoa to Roma.

The English Premier League outfit ensured that when they allowed Falque to head to Genoa they inserted a sell-on clause entitling them to 15 per cent of any future sale.

The Spanish winger has linked up with Roma on an initial loan deal, worth €1m, but with a clause which will make the move permanent for a further €7m as soon as he plays one official match for the Giallorossi.

The agreement also provides for a further €1m payment dependent upon the player's performances, meaning a total possible fee of €9m.

According to Italian daily La Stampa, Spurs will be entitled to 15 per cent of the total, which means they could end up with €1.35m from Falque's sale to Roma.

At the current exchange rate that means Spurs may scoop £960,000.

Genoa signed Falque from Spurs last summer for a fee of around €5m and he wasted no time in adapting to Italian football and impressing with the Grifone.

Falque made 33 appearances in all competitions for Genoa last season, scoring 13 goals and providing his team-mates with six assists, enough to turn Roma's head.
